The Getty Villa is a cliff-top beauty of a building overlooking the Pacific. There are collections of Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities.
The villa itself is a replicaof a villa destroyed in 79 A.D. by Mount Vesuvius. There's an outdoor amphitheatre for summer performances, amazing gardens and an ocean-view bistro al fresco, Best of all, admission to the villa is free - you only have to shell out $7/car. But do call ahead for tickets.
