The REDCAT is a hidden performance space in the bottom part of the new Disney Symphony Hall in downtown L.A. - and is far more suited to the sharp edges and strange surfaces of its Gehry design. Marketing itself as Los Angeles' new center for experimental art and performace (modeled in some ways off of B.A.M.), the REDCAT is unlike any other venue in the L.A. area. There's a cool little cafe/bar, a decent sized gallery space, and a modular theater that can shape shift depending on the needs of the performance. From modern dance, to performance art, to a one man Macbeth by the remarkable Stephen Dillane, the REDCAT is full of theatergoing opportunities for those of you who want to see something other than kitchen sink drama.
