Camp at Idyllwild

Idyllwild, CA is one of the most beautiful little towns I have ever visited. It takes a few hours to get there, and the last hour going up the mountain takes it's toll on your patience, but once you are up there - my god, it is stunning. The little mainstreet has great art galleries, brunch places and restaurants. The hiking is the best I've found in the L.A. area (which is rife with great spots). We camped for virtually nothing in a public camp site, but there are also private campe sites, and tons of little cabins for rent. Go to the Idyllwild website for initial information.
